Objectives

Consolidate an interdisciplinary internationalization network focused on Sustainable Food Systems, integrating the Graduate Programs in Biochemistry, Agronomy/Crop Science, Food Science and Technology, and Gastronomy at the Federal University of Ceará, with a focus on food security, sustainable production, reduction of food loss and waste, the impacts of climate change, the full utilization of raw materials, innovation, and cultural valorization. The project seeks to strengthen international scientific cooperation, expand academic mobility and human resource development, promote cotutelle arrangements, dual-degree programs, and academic activities in foreign languages, and foster joint scientific research with foreign institutions. The network also aims to integrate expertise in biochemistry, plant physiology, biotechnology, agricultural production, and food science and technology to develop sustainable products, processes, and technologies, promoting knowledge transfer to family farmers, traditional communities, and other sectors of society. In this way, the project will contribute to reducing disparities among Graduate Programs, strengthening UFC’s international engagement, and addressing global challenges related to the sustainability of food systems.
