Project 3 – International Network for Integrated Socioenvironmental Technologies and Methods for Oceanic and Territorial Sustainability: alternatives for local communities in the context of climate change

Objectives

Assess the vulnerability of communities and environments in the northern region of Brazil (Caatinga, Amazon, and Coastal and Marine Zones) in the context of global climate change, with the aim of developing strategies to ensure water, food, and energy security for urban and rural populations, guided by the principles of socioenvironmental sustainability and the geophysical and biophysical integrity of local ecosystems. The project also seeks to develop technologies, foster innovation, and establish integrated methods for the sustainability and governance of natural environments, including extension activities in urban and rural settings, with a focus on the resilience and resistance of terrestrial and marine socioecological systems.
