Project 11 – Internationalization in Health and Well-Being: Innovative Network-Based Strategies for the Diagnosis, Prevention, and Treatment of Emerging Infectious and Inflammatory Diseases
Objectives
This Thematic Project aims to consolidate an interinstitutional and international network for research, training, and innovation in health, bringing together Graduate Programs from the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) and the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF). The initiative seeks to expand internationalization through faculty and student mobility, the recruitment of international researchers, co-supervision, human resource development, joint publications, multicenter projects, shared infrastructure, and the establishment of long-term scientific partnerships and cooperation agreements. Research will focus on emerging infectious and inflammatory diseases, antimicrobial resistance, medical microbiology and mycology, molecular surveillance, genomics, transcriptomics, immunology, bioinformatics, molecular diagnostics and biomarkers, phage therapy, biofilms, pathogen–host interactions, chronic inflammation, aging, and cardiovascular diseases. The Project also prioritizes translational research, the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, innovation, technology transfer, and the internationalization of academic training.
